Steelwound

Steel Wound is an acoustic trio from the North Okanagan.

Trading lead vocals, blending three part harmonies, chopping chords and picking a variety of strings, Steel Wound cycles through a repertoire that reaches back to the 1800s.  They present thoughtful original tunes and semi-obscure alt-roots jazzy country blues, citing influences as varied as Fred Eaglesmith, Mississippi John Hurt, John Prine, Big Bill Broonzy, Bob Dylan, Leon Redbone, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and many others.

Steel Wound released their first CD, Last Dance at the Starlight Lounge in 2014.  It presents eight originals by songwriter Kerry Parks, along with four characteristic cover tunes.

In 2017, Kerry Parks released a second CD, Farther Along, with Steel Wound and Friends.  It contains ten originals and three covers: new story songs, message tunes, laughs and tears.
