SUMMARY:Forty Foot Fred
DESCRIPTION:Forty Foot Fred\, formed in 2016\, is an offshoot of the band the Young’uns.  Longtime member of The Young’uns\, Tim Reardon’s love for music and entertaining has endured for decades. The Forty Foot Fred band allows him to step out in a new direction musically. Tim’s versatility and ability to adapt is a critical component to the bands sound. “I look forward to bringing a fresh sound to the scene\, it has been a lot of fun playing with these guys!” Josh Evans is a high energy\, exciting musician to watch. Aside from his exceptional bass playing\, he brings a level of performance to the stage that electrifies the band. Josh played alongside Steve in Redfish and with Tim in Orio\, so the fit into FFF has been very smooth. Josh is looking forward to bringing a new perspective into the band making it sound unlike The Young’uns\, Orio or Redfish! Steve Mannix is a veteran musician known for being the drummer of recording act Redfish for over a decade. Because both Josh and Steve have such a long playing history in Redfish\, it has been an easy transition into FFF. DESCRIPTION:Steel Wound is an acoustic trio from the North Okanagan. \nTrading lead vocals\, blending three part harmonies\, chopping chords and picking a variety of strings\, Steel Wound cycles through a repertoire that reaches back to the 1800s.  They present thoughtful original tunes and semi-obscure alt-roots jazzy country blues\, citing influences as varied as Fred Eaglesmith\, Mississippi John Hurt\, John Prine\, Big Bill Broonzy\, Bob Dylan\, Leon Redbone\, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, and many others. \nSteel Wound released their first CD\, Last Dance at the Starlight Lounge in 2014.  It presents eight originals by songwriter Kerry Parks\, along with four characteristic cover tunes. \nIn 2017\, Kerry Parks released a second CD\, Farther Along\, with Steel Wound and Friends.  It contains ten originals and three covers: new story songs\, message tunes\, laughs and tears. \nContact:\nkerry@steelwound.com \n

DESCRIPTION:Marv Machura is a singer-songwriter in the contemporary tradition of artists like Neil Young\, Ian Tyson\, John Cougar\, Tom Petty\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Neil Diamond\, John Denver\, etc. He has been performing steadily since his teens\, releasing 4 CDs and publishing 20 songs in Nashville. Biography Marv Machura started his career at 15 as a guitar player in several variety dance bands centered out of Edmonton\, Alberta. At 18\, he moved on to singing and writing songs\, touring as a solo act. During the 1990s\, Machura led several Edmonton-based folk-rock bands that became “The Marv Machura Band” featuring Machura backed by a bass/drums rhythm section. During the 1990s Machura also published over 20 songs in Nashville and released his first CD. Over the next 10 years\, Machura continued to perform with his band releasing three more CDs. Today\, Marv Machura continues to perform both solo and with his band. DESCRIPTION:Gary (sax) and Steve (keys) have been playing together in bands here in the North Okanagan since the early 90’s. Rick (guitar) was doing the same thing\, except in different bands. \nAfter getting together in a six piece band back in the late 90’s\, about five years ago\, they decided to put together a smaller combo that would take up less space in smaller venues\, but sill pump out great live music for folks to dance and party to.  SAX Appeal’s set list is all over the map\, with Classic Rock\, Country and Blues\, but their set list  will have you hitting the dance floor or at least tapping your toes and singing along with some of the great songs from the 60’s through to the new millennium. \nContact Steve Durant at sdurant@telus.net
